About me

100_2619I am Abhishek from Mumbai.. well not exactly Mumbai, but a central suburb of Mumbai. I am a student of Final Year Electronics Engineering at VJTI, Mumbai. Though I shall soon graduate from my college and no longer be a student, I believe in continuing to be one all my life. Learning new things fascinates to me to no end and the thirst for knowledge is one of the most important things that drive me in life. Learning is wonderful.

Technology fascinates me to no end. I am very passionate about electronics and computer science. Besides that, I am very fond of music. In my playlists, you will find a huge variety of songs. (Pt Vishwamohan Bhatt, Anoushka Shankar, Dire Straits, The Doors, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Kaushiki Chakrabarty, Shaan, Hariharan, Shreya Ghoshal, Michael Jackson, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, AR Rahman, Metallica, Indian Ocean to name a few artistes). Though, this may seem a bit too diverse, I am very selective about the music that find my way into my playlists and cannot tolerate bad music(more on my definition of bad music in a later post maybe). Hindustani Classical music is very close to my heart and being able to recognize a raaga from the song gives me a high ! I hold Classical musicians in high regard, and marvel at their genius. I play the guitar in my free time(albeit not very well 😛 )

Besides music, I love to read (Click to follow what I read) a lot. I own a Kindle on which I do quite a lot of my reading activity, currently reading Agatha Christie. I find joy in travelling, and have travelled mainly in places around Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata and some parts of Vadodara. My city, Mumbai, I believe has an interestingly quirky and strong personality of its own, which I have grown to love so much in my 21 years of existence. Being a water sign, I love the sea. I am a pakka Mumbaikar at heart, and a true-blue foodie, and can bake reasonably good cakes. I can guzzle down unlimited amounts of coffee and Coca Cola ! I love watching movies, movies of substance that leave an impression, crime thrillers, action flicks, but I also enjoy an occasional light-hearted comedy or a romcom. Like many others, I absolutely enjoy watching sitcoms like ‘FRIENDS’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’. And yes, I enjoy writing, and some day, hope to write things that will contribute to the world in some way.
